Ryan Campagna

Director Of Programs

Ryan Campagna joined Friends for Youth in 2023 and brings more than 20 years of experience in youth development. A Redwood City native who grew up in South San Francisco, Ryan began his career working in after-school programs and summer camps through the city’s Parks and Recreation Department. He later served as a Beacon Director in San Francisco’s Visitacion Valley, overseeing programs designed to support students, families, and the broader school community. Ryan also holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and has held several roles during his time at Friends for Youth.

Ryan is passionate about the intersection of mental health, youth development, and community work, and enjoys working alongside people who are committed to strengthening their skills and supporting their communities. His connection to Friends for Youth’s mission is also personal. As the first person in his family to attend college, Ryan had to forge his own path without much access to support or mentorship. Today, he is passionate about helping young people build relationships with trusted adults who can share their experiences, help them navigate challenges, and support them as they grow.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, friends, and family. He loves cycling, reading science fiction, photography, thrifting, playing Minecraft and Dungeons & Dragons, and looking up at the stars.
