Cecilia Chu
Executive Director
Cecilia has a Bachelors in Environmental Sciences and Art from UC Berkeley, and a Masters of Social Work from Columbia University. She’s been in social services since 2009, has taught English in Japan and worked at the International Rescue Committee HQ. She grew up in Oakland and spent her formative years in Millbrae. Cecilia has always hoped to run nonprofit programs that serve kids who grew up in challenging environments like her and her younger brother. She hopes for a world where all kids can grow up happy and healthy and is very grateful for the opportunity to heal others in her work now.
Cecilia loves animals, especially dogs. She is active and loves sports (was on the ultimate frisbee team at Cal), biking, dance and the outdoors. As of late, she is snowboarding, golfing, playing tennis and napping with her lazy rescue, Wally the Chow.
