Youth Mentoring 2.0: The Impacts of Technology
on Programs and Relationships
a huge success!
Nearly 200 youth mentoring professionals joined us on January 21 and 22, 2010, to learn about the impact of technology on programs and relationships. From program management to volunteer recruitment, from mentor screening to match monitoring, from how mentors communicate with program staff to how they communicate with their mentees, and from program marketing to soliciting donors, new technology has a direct impact on youth mentoring programs. Over two days of a pre-conference course, 15 workshop sessions, and two keynote presentations, we addressed some of these aspects of how technology – like online program management systems, social networking tools, and web-based fundraising – either helps or hinders youth mentoring relationships and the programs that support them. We thank you for helping us achieve our goal – for participants to walk away with concrete tools and practical suggestions to easily implement into their new or existing programs, making both attendees and their programs stronger and better able to serve their communities.
