• Where are Information Sessions held?
  

These one-time Information Session are held either at our office at 1741 Broadway, Redwood City, CA

or at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation 1300 South El Camino Real, Suite #100, San Mateo CA

• How long do they last?
  

Information Sessions last approximately one hour.

• Do I need to bring anything with me?
  

No.

• How old do I need to be to become a mentor?
  

Mentors must be at least 20 years of age.

• Where does the mentoring take place?
  

Friends for Youth is a community-based program.  Matched mentors and mentees hang out at locations most convenient to them.

• Can I be matched with a young person who lives near me?
  

We support matches in all cities in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties.

• Are Junior Friends required to participate in this program?
  

No, all youth voluntarily participate--just like you!

• Are there any special skills required to be a mentor?
  

No, only the desire to have fun!
